Sean Sherman — Oglala Lakota, born on South Dakota’s Pine Ridge Reservation, is a chef and leader who has been cooking across the United States and the world for the past thirty years. His main culinary focus has been to raise awareness of and revitalize Native food systems in a modern culinary context. In 2014, he founded The Sioux Chef, a food education and catering project, in the Minneapolis/Saint Paul area. His first book, The Sioux Chef’s Indigenous Kitchen, was published in 2017 and won a James Beard award for American Cooking. His restaurant Owamni opened in Minneapolis in 2021 and was honored on many best new restaurant lists, winning the James Beard Award for Best New Restaurant. In 2023, Sean was named to TimeMagazine’s list of 100 most influential people.

Jackie Kashian — a stand-up comedian who has been seen on After Midnight, Conan, Corden, HBO, Netflix, Comedy Central, and or heard on NPR and Audible. Her five comedy albums and specials have been #1 on Amazon and Apple and #3 on Billboard. In addition to two podcasts The Jackie and Laurie Show and The Dork Forest, you can also read her writing in The Comedy Film Nerds Guide to Movies and the comic book Comics Comics Quarterly.

Jeff Chang — the author of Can’t Stop Won’t Stop: A History of the Hip-Hop Generation, his first book, which was named one of the best American nonfiction books of the last quarter century. Jeff has been a USA Ford Fellow in Literature and, among numerous other honors, has won the American Book Award and the Asian American Literary Award. He has written three other acclaimed bestsellers on American history and culture, music, and the arts. In May 2019, he and director Bao Nguyen created a four-episode digital series adaptation of his award-winning book We Gon’ Be Alright for PBS’ Indie Lens Storycast. He was featured in Nguyen’s ESPN Bruce Lee documentary, Be Water; the PBS series, Asian Americans; and Lisa Ling’s CNN series, This Is Life.
